Medobora Persimmon – Adapted to the Indian Climate and Yields Fruit in the Second Year After Planting!

The Medobora hybrid persimmon is one of the most popular and new cultivars designed for growing in our country.
This variety is characterized as drought-resistant, productive, and self-fertile. The fruits are flat-round in shape, large, with an average weight of 350 - 480 grams.
Color – dark orange, the flesh is juicy and sweet, without excessive astringency or bitterness. Ripens in autumn – closer to early October.
The tree is medium-sized, reaching 4-5 meters in height, with a rounded and dense crown. It starts fruiting in the second year. The Medobora persimmon is practically immune to any diseases, as it has strong resistance to anthracnose, late blight, rust, and root rot. The yield of a mature tree, with proper and consistent care, is 55-60 kg. The saplings are grafted onto Virginia persimmon rootstocks.

Planting Guidelines
Proper planting is the key to success!
Step 1. Prepare the soil.
The soil should be moist. For easier planting, mound the soil instead of leveling it out. The optimal planting time is summer to autumn. 
Step 2. Place the seedlings in the soil.
Set the persimmon on the prepared mound, spreading the roots evenly. It is important to position the root collar correctly – it should be buried 5-7 cm deep. Cover the root system and water thoroughly.
Step 3. Harvest starting from the second year after planting.
As the tree grows, the fruit yield increases. This variety allows you to harvest up to 60 kg of fruit from a mature tree per season.
ATTENTION!
The tree grows up to 4-5 meters tall; allow 5-6 meters of free space for the crown and nutrition. Plant in spring in sunny areas. This variety requires no special agricultural techniques, is self-fertile, and does not need other persimmon trees nearby. In the early years, regular watering and weeding are essential.
